When Laura became disillusioned with her work as a Textile Technologist she looked for a change of career and was inspired to set up a mobile dog washing service five years ago.

Laura graduated from Goldsmiths’ College, University of London with a BA honours degree in textile design and later an MSc degree in Textile Technology.

After deciding she was barking up the wrong tree, she started her own doggie business, washing other people’s dogs in the back of a specially converted van.

Laura and Nezbitt, her eight year old Bull Terrier, travel around, visiting dogs and their owners at their homes.

While Laura washes dogs in the van, Nezbitt sits up front watching the world go by and looking out for traffic wardens!

In March 2005 Laura gave birth to her first child, Daniel.

Laura’s Dog Wash can be seen around Derby, Ilkeston, Beeston, Long Eaton, Castle Donnington, Coalville and areas along the way.  “I am fortunate to have a regular client base now.

  My smallest client is a Papillon and the largest is a sixteen and a half stone St Bernard!".  All breeds are welcome.

Laura hasn’t broken all ties with her old life though.  She currently paints in watercolour with Nezbitt and her son, Daniel, being a superb models and, is planning to utilise the abundance of dog hair collected by spinning and weaving it into some unique creations!
